From the artist:
"It was June in the rugged but beautiful Gallatin River Valley
of Montana, just north of Yellowstone National Park. On my first morning
in the area, I took a walk and climbed up to a bench just as the rays
of the rising sun were starting to stream down through a valley. The
bench was bathed in the warm glow of the sun while much of the rest
of the valley was still in shadow. I could imagine a gray wolf lying
there soaking up the warmth of the new day. The successful reintroduction
of the gray wolf into the ecosystem has been greeted with both joy and
disdain. I hope this image will help convey the beauty of this magnificent
animal and increase human tolerance for them."
