“I love big cats and the Siberian Tiger is as big as they come.
It is the largest member of the cat family. Most people think of tigers
as a tropical animal but the Siberian Tiger lives in a much colder environment.
The last viable population lives in Ussuiland in Russia. There it thrives
in mixed deciduous and coniferous forests with snow cover a good part
of the year - not too different than exists in parts of the US and Canada.
Could you imagine a 700 lb cat walking through your backyard? What I
tried to capture in this portrait is the majesty of this wonderful animal.”
