“The raven is a magnificent and intelligent member of the bird world. They have gotten a bad reputation in many western cultures as being an omen of ill tidings probably due to the black plumage and their habit of eating carrion. Northwestern Native Americans view the raven as the creator god but also a trickster. They are one the most playful in the avian world, having been observed sliding down snow banks and breaking off braches to play with socially. They have also demonstrated great intelligence in experiments with a piece of food on the end of a string dangling from a perch by lifting the string with their beaks and by stepping on it with their feet. Ravens in Yellowstone have learned to open the saddle bags on motorcycles and snowmobiles to get at the tasty human treats inside.” Original Acrylic Painting: SOLD Framed Small Canvas Giclée Prints: $30 - $50 * A giclée print is a high-resolution digital reproduction providing truer color and greater longevity
