From the artist:
"This painting was inspired by my frequent visits to a local park.
The ponds in the park attract waterfowl year around. This makes it a
great place to sketch and take photos. I created this painting from
those photographs, drawings and memories. I especially liked the transitions:
light undulating snow to sky reflected in water to dark green water
at the top. The tracks lead you to the goose as it gazes off canvas.
Not knowing what captures its attention adds some mystery to the painting
and allows the viewer to fill in the blanks. Finally, the River Birch
(No, it is not a white birch and yes, that is the real color) adds an
interesting splash of color with its orange hued bark and the black
branches tie it in with the black of the goose.”
